Lil Wayne has been linked to at least two new movies: Patriots, a Forest Whitaker feature that began filming in New Orleans last month, and the fourth installment of The Fast and the Furious, which will also feature Vin Diesel, Paul Walker and Michelle Rodriguez. While the former is due out in November, the latter's on tap for 2009.In other Lil Wayne news, BET executive vice president Stephen Hill told Billboard.com, "I'll give you a little tidbit—Lil Wayne is probably closing [the June 24 BET Awards]. So, we have a grand opening [from Usher] and [a] grand closing."
NEW ORLEANS—Lawyers for rapper Lil Wayne are seeking more time to turn over documents in response to a lawsuit that accuses the award-winning recording artist of copyright infringement.
A federal lawsuit filed in May claims Lil Wayne didn't have permission to sample a song by singer Karma-Ann Swanepoel.
The suit says Lil Wayne's record label, Cash Money Records, tried but failed to negotiate a license to use Swanepoel's song "Once" before millions of people downloaded the rapper's song "I Feel Like Dying."

Rap star Lil' Wayne might finally have to wear something besides his trademark low-riding, heinie-exposing jeans: He's coming to Minneapolis to perform in January.
Wayne, T-Pain and Keyshia Cole are scheduled to perform together Jan. 19 at the Target Center. Tickets ($39.75-$79.75) go on sale Saturday at 10 a.m. Rap/rock band Gym Class Heroes and Keri Hilson are also on the lineup.
